At John Ridella, DMD, PC, my role as a Mechanical Tech Advisor/Liaison from February 2021 to August 2021 involved equipment procurement and design tasks. My work centered on two primary areas: facilitating communication with Chinese suppliers for dental equipment procurement and designing a suction adaptor for High-Volume Evacuator (HVE) tips.

Equipment Procurement Coordination

• Communications and Negotiations: I managed communications with Chinese suppliers, acting as the primary liaison. This role required negotiating terms, ensuring that equipment specifications met our needs, and confirming quality standards.

• Streamlining Procurement: My focus was to streamline the process of acquiring dental equipment. This involved coordinating logistics, handling customs and import regulations, and ensuring timely delivery.

Design and Engineering of Suction Adaptor

• Suction Adaptor Design: Using SolidWorks, I designed a suction adaptor for High-Volume Evacuator (HVE) tips. The challenge was to convert these tips from European to American standards.

• Enhancing Equipment Compatibility: The design aimed to improve the functionality of the HVE tips in our American setup. It involved precise measurements and a deep understanding of both European and American dental equipment standards.
