The is a telescope designed by the University of California, Berkeley's Space Sciences Laboratory, for wide-field imaging and spectroscopy in the medium energy gamma-ray band.
The first iteration of the telescope was , and the team is currently working on an in-space version of COSI, which is planned to be launched by NASA in 2027.
My role is the developer for the microcontroller in COSI's Background & Transit Observer (BTO). BTO is in charge of logging background gamma-ray energy levels, and sending the data back down to Earth. The chosen development board is , for its relatively robust architecture and versatility in hardware pin assignments.
